Description: ANGEL BOTELLO was born in Spain in 1913. He studied in France and returned to Spain until the revolution broke out and in turn joined the army. After the war, he moved to the Dominican Republic with his family where he was accepted within the art community. He married and with his wife moved to Puerto Rico and started a gallery in the 1950's and the rest is history. He died in 1986 having left behind a strong legacy. This is an artist proof as noted in lower left hand corner; A/P ! This print has a grannular texture from the technique used with a heavier ink on black paper creating a thicker grainier look and feel. The print is not numbered but is hand signed while wet in the lower right hand corner. It has a erotic subject matter and is very interesting. It is circa 1970, but could be from the 1960's. You can see the impression on back of the paper where it was signed. The print measures approx. 19" by 14" / and 27+3/4" by 22+3/4" in frame. The frame, I believe is original. It is black with antique gold finish on edge! It has a couple of nicks but is in Very Good condition. The print has no damage and has a cardboard type backing which I had removed and and then put back to make sure print was in the condition listed! Interesting subject matter with slight erotica hint! GREAT LATIN AMERICAN PRINT by ANGEL BOTELLO who is becoming more and more renouned!!!
