Description: Han dynasty or earlier jade scabbard end decorated with hydra.The back features Tao Tieh mask. This is a high quality of jade carving done in yellow brown jade. The top has 3 holes for the attachment to the scabbard. Flawless ancient artefact. Size: 1.8 inches x 1.2 inches. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's collection, the author of illustrated collectors textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD". Estimated value: $2000.
