Description: Unusual Amphora figure of a nude with seahorses and holding a basket shaped as strange birds and pelicans. Made in Chechoslovakia 1918-1939. Measures 8 1/2inches high. A slim young lady with long, flowing hair stands on a round base, modelled with typical Amphora impressed and inset beads. Around the base are 3 strange seahorses, wonderfully modelled in exotic forms and very graceful. The girl holds a basket on one shoulder. It is made in the form of a ring of pelicans. Very exciting forms of these animals echo the folds of the seahorses and contrast with the smooth skin of the girl. Underneath is a blue underglaze oval with Made in Czechoslovakia around the word Amphora, the mark used 1918-1939. Impressed numbers 20192 and 26. Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/scratches/restorations of any sort.
