Description:
Offered for your consideration is this wonderful Old Edwardian Era estate find. It is a Sun purpled sunburst pattern octagonal oil lamp. It was patten-ed Sept 19, Nov 14, 1911 which is marked on the top lip ( in my photo it looks like 1914 but it is 1911). It has the copper screw top, with a white flame flip top burner. it is marked White Flame Light Co. Grand Rapids, Mich. the glass base measures 9" without burner and 6 3/8" across base. It has 4 sunbursts and sun-rays streaming down.It is in wonderful condition. I feel some roughness along the mold line, I wouldn't consider them chips. No cracks or chips anywhere. Mark Twain termed this era as the Gilded Age because of its opulence, and this piece is a great example of the era. This is a great piece to add to your collection.
