Description: We believe this pair of Brass andirons was made in New York in the first part of the 19th Century. They are in an excellent state of preservation. The bolts are wrought iron and were passed red hot through the iron dog and the brass leg and then upset and peened over to lock the three parts together tightly. The Sheraton style remains most popular.
