Up for sale is a mid-20th century modern American woodcut print in tones of brown, black and terra-cotta, featuring a folksinger seated on a stool, playing a guitar. It is titled in pencil "Bobby" in the center underneath the image, on the left "Woodcut" and on the right it is signed by the artist "Dorothy Broaddus '64". The paper measures 16 1/2 inches high and 12 inches wide. The image measures 13 inches long by 9 1/4 inches wide. The margins are smudged, the edges are soft, with a small tear at the bottom and larger 1 3/4 inch tear at the top margin (just short of the image), with five pieces of old tape. The back is toned with some mild surface paper loss. However, the image itself is in good to very good condition with no detectable losses and is a great example of a mid-century modern woodcut, both in color and subject, perfect for the collector of American woodcuts.
