Description: AMERICAN WATCH Co. 1857 MODEL KEY WIND/KEY SET P.S. BARTLETT EAGLE HALLMARKED CIVIL WAR HUNTING CASE Circa: Fall 1861. Rare. Movement dated Fall of 1861 when the hostilities between the States began at Ft. Sumter, North Carolina. Featured is the hunting fancy case with the identifying Eagle Hallmark inside of both lids. Something magic about an American pocket watch produced at this time, and only the Northern States had access to them. This 1857 model is free of distraction and is still clean, running and accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.

DIAL: White porcelain no sunk porcelain dial signed: "AMERICAN WATCH Co." with two very light hairlines from post to 1 & 2 o'clock.

MOVEMENT: 18 size, 1857 model, full plate gilt, key wind/key set, 7 jewels, #31,744. Bold bright colors, free of scratches, blemish, or any rust or damage.

CASE: 18 size, hunting model, coin silver (2.5 oz), excellent original condition with surfaces a combination of floral and engine turning, and free of initals or personalization. The two inside lids carry the Eagle Hallmark and case No. 15705.
