Description: This is a beautiful sterling silver bowl by Connecticut silversmiths William Rogers in an elegant Rococo Revival and Art Nouveau style. This shaped, circular bowl has deep wavy sides with delicate openwork decoration of scrolls and is trimmed with a band of scrolls and flowers. The decoration captures the gorgeous curves of the Art Nouveau style but with a traditional look. This bowl is in excellent condition and measures approx. 3 1/4" in high, 9 " in diameter, and weighs approx. 14 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the maker's mark of William Rogers, the word Sterling, and pattern number 540S. This lovely antique silver bowl is elegantly styled and beautifully proportioned, and would make an excellent gift!
