Description:
Grain-Painted and Stenciled American Federal Single Drawer Pine Washstand with Tapered Legs. This attractive piece is from around 1820. In very good antique condition, with shrinkage cracks in top and lower shelf attesting to its age. A pair of candle stands are built into the corners of the back splash. The table is sturdy and the age cracks do not affect its beauty or usefulness. Golden stenciling in such good condition that it might have been enhanced, still is not recent. Lions head pulls are old and don't appear to be replacements. Place a plate or glass over the wash basin hole and have a great bedside or lamp table, or use this elegant piece as a planter or even a wash stand again!
