Description:
An American Mahogany Metamorphic Games Table, late 19th c., labeled Hunzinger, the 36 inch circular top with release mechanism which reverses the table to a felt-lined playing surface, resting in a yoke with a low shelf and raised on paw feet, brass label on base. Note: Near the end of his life in the 1890?s, the innovative and well-established chairmaker, George Hunzinger, turned his attention to the development of convertible tables including an 1894 patent for a flip top games table.
