Description: Albert Kotin (1907-1980) was a painter, educator and lecturer who, along with such friends and contemporaries as Hans Hoffman and Willem De Kooning, helped launch the abstract expressionist movement in New York City during the 1950s. He studied at the Art Students League of New York, The National Academy of Design, the National Institute for Architectural Education, and with Charles Hawthorne. His work has been exhibited at the Association of American Artists, Witchita Art Museum, Hacker Gallery, March Gallery, Tanager Gallery, all of the annual Stable Gallery exhibits, the 9th Street Show, Grand Central Moderns, Allyn Gallery, University of Southern Illinois, Milli-Jay Gallery, Pollock Gallery, Galerie Iris Clert, Graham Gallery, MModA Traveling, Byron Gallery, Brooklyn Center, City College of New York, and the Brooklyn Potytechnic Institute. Artist listing: Who Was Who in American Art. The Artfull Eye is the exclusive representative of the artwork from Albert Kotin's estate. Although the drawing is unsigned, it comes directly from the estate of the artist (estate inventory #0841). Framing: Cream colored mat under glass and set into contemporary round moulding with a black mat finish. This work is being offered by the Artfull Eye Gallery, owned and operated by Michael F.
