Description: Extremely rare "George Washington" American historical platter, circa 1830-1840, Staffordshire by Enoch Wood & Sons, 2 color blue and brown transfer, central view depicts a statue of G. Washington by Canova, overlooking classical ruins, border consisting of scenic medallion shells and seaweed. Blue mark on verso consisting of an urn with palms, rectangular base containing "Washington", over the initials "EW&S".
