Description:
An extraordinary piece of American furniture, this Empire Mahagony Sideboard has everything going for it. Empire furniture is characterized by simple, often massive yet graceful curves, dark woods and veeners. In this piece the legs end in massive shaggy claw feet; there’s a stenciled motif on the backsplash edge; two drawers over two doors, with key; shelves inside; single board construction on top and sides; veneer on drawers and doors; and graceful columns on either side of the backsplash . It measures 45” to top of server; 52” wide and 22” deep. The top board has an age crack and there are small chips in the veneer. I will send you additional photos if needed. This item is a pick-up only.
