Description:
This is a beautiful electrified oil lamp by The Bradley & Hubbard (c.1854) Manufacturing Company out of Meriden, Connecticut. Their products were sold in showrooms owned by Bradley & Hubbard in New York, Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia. This lamp has three parts - 1./ A marked B&H base that has a bronzed body, cast iron base that has four foliated feet and two detailed cast dragon handles. 2./ A beautifully handpainted lampshade. 3./ A clear, tall chimney. ----- The base is two toned colour a deep black bronze colour for the handles, base and top, while the body is in a deep copper / red patina. The handles are wonderfully shaped in the form of dragons. The large glass shade is all handpainted. ----- This lamp dates circa 1880. ----- Marked: On the bottom B & H in a raised circle with the printers flowers above and below. ----- Measures: 23 1/2 inches high x 13 1/2 inches wide. ----- Excellent condition - No damage, cracks or repairs. One thin surface scratch on base
