Description:
Exceptional painting by Amalia Ferri. We are handling the art portfolio/estate of the late Amalia Ferri (East Longmeadow MA), b1908 d1998. She was a student at the Springfield Art School and studied under listed artists Marion Huse and Adolph Aldrich. Ms Ferri worked in many mediums all with a regionalist/expressionist flare. Although she did study under these two listed artists she did develop her own style. This oil on canvas is approx 10x13 and housed in a period arts and crafts frame which has been given a silver leaf antiqued finish. The silver leaf has been antiqued and worn through to pewter gray undercoat. Great detail and vivid colors in this painting, we feel it is one of Ms Ferris' finest in the portfolio we hold. Oil on canvas is signed ll. Windows of barn have been scratched into the oil paint, some impasto paint decoration adds weight and depth to areas of scene. Affordable investment art of a (so far) under appreciated period of American Art.
