Description: Lovely old Aller Vale Devon Mottoware puzzle jug in the rare “Colored Cockerel” pattern. The motto reads: “Solve the Puzzle - Within this jug there is good liquor, Fit for Parson or for Vicar,But how to drink and not to spill, Will try the utmost of your skill” Excellent, near mint condition as there are no chips, cracks or repairs and the colors are very vibrant, however there is crazing to the glaze. It measures 4 ½”h x 4 ½”w from the end of the handle to the end of the spout on the other side.
