Precious little has been published on early primitive American stoneware. When I visit regional antique shows, I frequently receive requests for authoritative reference books for this topic.
We’re pleased to offer this much-needed title to collectors. The book is thorough, well-researched and has excellent color photography. Many previously unknown or poorly known early potters are documented. Distinctive, colorful designs on utilitarian ware from this era are identified by maker. My guess is that many collectors and industry professionals will be finally be able to identify early crocks, jugs and similar utilitarian ware for the first time!
