Description: AFRICAN ARTIFACTS: BOBO (or PEOPLE OF THE BWA TRIBE) PLANK MASK - UPPER REGION OF BURKINA FASO AND MALI. The decorated horizontal plank masks/headdress resembles either "A BIRD OR OWL IN FLIGHT" with pigmented designs. Measurements are 41.5" X 12" and 6 lbs, 01.4 oz. NOTE: THESE ARTIFACTS ARE FROM AN ESTATE IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND. In order to provide the most acdurate information, in addition to what accompanied the artifacts, I confered with the National Museum of African Art, Smithsonian Institution. Each artifact is listed as “IN THE STYLE OF” (ARTICULATED EXAMPLES OF 20th. CENTURY EXOTIC DÉCOR).
