Description: This is the 1935 "Cigaretten Bilderdienft" book (Cigarette Picture Service) published by Alton Bahrenfeld. The book came in a variety of cover colors, but the usual COVER is orange as is this copy. The purpose of the book was to assemble and present pictures that were glued on the pages to tell the story of the German Führer’s life and ascension to power in the Third Reich. These pictures were offered by the cigarette company and to get a packet of them you would send in the coupons from your pack of cigarettes and the company would provide you free of charge a packaged envelope of these pictures. The book consists of 133 pages with hundreds of glossy black & white pictures by Heinrich Hoffmann, Hitler’s personal photographer. There are many wonderful pictorials depicting the NSDAP, SS, SA, ceremonies, architecture, Wehrmacht, and many Nazi personalities. This book is considered the best overall book on the era for general information and photographic clarity. It is a highly informative piece of literary and photographic history. This book was numbered “13” in a series of publications and is generally considered to be the ultimate Nazi volume of history.Deutschland Erwache is the other most common one which we also have on offer. This copy of ADOLF HITLER is complete although has no cover jacket....not certain if this volume ever had one. The cover has some minor stains and marks and a small split to spine tape at bottom. Some light browning to page edges throghout but in a general a very clean and good copy.
