Description: Absolutely Incredible Mantel Clock !! SIMPLY STUNNING!! Take a moment and get a look at one of the most fabulous mantel clocks we have had the pleasure to offer for auction in some time! We were lucky to acquire it from a lovely Private estate in the South of France near Cannes!The clock dates from the third quarter of the 19th C. (c.1880).The style of this marvelous mantel clock is Renaissance and the bronze gilt figures with the gorgeous eagle on top are in a perfect condition.The two mythological figures on the sides represent Samson and Dalila.The dark green marble with the grey veins is in fantastic condition and looks great!Perfect running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a gong.The chime on that gong is fantastic!The clockwork is driving by a pendulum filled with mercury what is very unusual!The bronze movement is stamped with" H.S.T.-France",probably made by Henri-Simon Tharlien,the most famous clockmaker in France at that time.The four glass plates around the clockwork are beveled and there is a door behind and at front!The dimensions are: Height: 20 Inches, Width: 27 Inches and Depth: 7 Inches.Because the clock is that big and heavy(70 LBS) the shipping costs will be 350 US$.This figural mantel clock is everywhere an absolutely eye catcher that you will never get again.Regarding shipping we will pack the clock in a wooden box so you will receive it in perfect condition.After payment you will receive the clock in about 5 days.
