Description:
This is a beautiful small American Brilliant Cut flower center made circa 1880's. I have not identified the pattern or maker as yet. The piece is unsigned. The vase is 5-1/2" tall and 5-1/2" in diameter at the widest point of the squat body. The design is of Sunbursts separated by diamond point and flat stars go allover the body of the bowl with a 20 point Hobstar on the bottom. The neck is step cut in four rings with notched flat panels above and below. Two of the petals are chipped at the rim and each is about 1/4" oval. There are no other chips, flakes or cracks. The inside is a little cloudy but I have not tried to clean it.
