Description:
This is a beautiful American Brilliant Cut cream pitcher and sugar bowl set made circa 1880. I have not identified the pattern or maker as yet. The pieces are unsigned. The pitcher is 3-1/2" tall at the spout and 3-1/2" in diameter at the rim plus the spout and the applied handle. The sugar is 3" tall and 4" in diameter at the rim plus the two applied handles. The handles on each are triple notched. The design of Hobstars separated by cane and diamond points go allover the body of each bowl including the bottom forming a Star of David design. The rim on each is scalloped dog tooth. This is a most beautiful set with a clear and well cut blank. They were hand blown and formed and the interiors are smooth with no undultions in the glass. There are no chips, flakes or cracks.
