20thC French Rococo Lovers Repro Hand-Colored Engraving
Description: Reproduction engraving with hand-coloring on paper, framed (no glass). Title printed along lower edge: "Le Danger du Tete-a-Tete." From the painting by Pierre Antoine Baudouin. Engraved by Jean Baptiste Simonet. Dimensions: Paper (sight): 14 x 10 1/2in. Frame: 20 1/2 x 16 1/2in. Weight: 1 lb. 14 oz. Condition: Paper is sandwiched between mat and backing board with adhesive recto and verso. Evidence of mat burn and paper is darkened throughout. Otherwise in good condition overall. Artist's Biography:
Reproduction AFTER the original engraving by Jean Baptiste Simonet (1742 - 1810) after a gouache painting by Pierre Antoine Baudouin (1723 - 1769) who worked in Boucher's studio and married his daughter.
