20C American Historical Figure Portraits 4 Engravings
Description: Four engravings on paper, unframed. Reproductions of 19th century original engraved portraits of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln as well as scenes depicting the Drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the Inauguration of Washington. All: Printed along lower edge: "From the original Painting by Chappel in the possession of the Publishers./Johnson, Fry & Co. Publishers, New York". Dimensions: Each: Paper (approximately): Washington, Lincoln and Drafting: 10 1/2 x 7 1/2in. Inauguration: 9 1/2 x 7in. Total weight: 4oz. (Box F) Condition: All: Darkening to paper throughout. Creasing and a few minor tears along all four edges, more significant along right edge of paper. A number of small areas of light staining and very few fox marks scattered throughout margins. A small area of wear to paper in upper left corner due to adhesive residue. Soft creasing to paper throughout. Damage primarily restricted to the outer margins, central images not affected by damage described above. Otherwise, all in good condition overall. Artist's Biography:
