Description: To a fine quality white pine fireplace having a central bowed shelf with two projected ends. The moulding below encloses rectangular beads; this is mounted above a great course of gouge carved dentilation centered with stops. The mantel frieze is mounted with three gouge carved tablets all having stylized swags and drops in the early neoclassic manner. These in turn are supported by a band course carved with snowflakes and punch work. The mantel jambs or legs are mounted with reeded pilasters which are also carved with gouge work agreeing with the capitals above. The pilasters are supported on projected moulded plinths. The mantel opening is surrounded with a rich course of gouge carved central motive, stopped at its end with turned mitre blocks. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1793)
