Description: Oil on canvas signed E. Verboeckoven, [Eugene Verboeckhoven (1798-1881), Belgian]. This barnyard scene, executed circa 1880 bares the signature "E. Verboeckoven," an extemely desirable Belgian artist. His signature is readily found as spelled "Verboeckhoven" or "Verboeckoven". Although the signature and style of the work is of Eugene Verboekhoven, with the signature under the varnish and painted when the work was completed circa 1880, the quality and detail appears to be slightly off from known Verboeckhovens. Could this be a real Verboeckhoven? Possibly...we are not the experts! Dimensions: 25" x 20".
