This is a splendid console made during the Empire period at the beginning of the 19th century boasting a beautifully patinaed mahogany veneer and topped by its original and thick carerra marble which sits upon the elegantly simple belt providing a large drawer mounted with the original bronze handles and escutcheon, all supported by a pair of columns highlighted with bronze ormolus and a couple of straight back columns standing on a bottom shelf on square tapered legs that bring stability and sturdiness. Note that the marble has been repaired at some point. Hardware is in original condition. Circa date 1810. Dimensions 36”high/ 57”wide/ 21”deep.
