Description: Wonderful British made Antique Brass Octant, signed H. Hughes, London, from the mid 19th Century. This exceptional piece has an ivory scale, vernier, magnifier, 2 sets of colored filters, telescope and wood handle, with mahogany coffin case. There is a label inside the lid of the case although I'm sot sure it is the original. Great scientific collectible for the marine or nautical enthusiast.
