Description:
This is a spectular country French faux finished clock with fabulous face and pendulum. The clock has a porcelain face with Roman numerals and is mounted in an elaborate embossed brass case. The clock works were made by Badet. The case is made of pine and is completely faux finished. The bottom panel features a bird hunting scene with hunters and their retrievers in a forest. The scene is boardered with ivy and scroll work. The embossed brass pendulum is beautifull done with cherubs on the top and the faces of two men said to have been instrumental in the French Revolution. As of yet, we have been unable to determine their names. This clock is an eight day clock. It chimes the hour and the half hour twice as do most country clocks. This is a wonderful accent piece for any home and would be lovely in a great room, foyer or stairway landing.
