Description:
Here we have a very handsome oak and mahogany longcase clock. The case is particularly nice quality and the movement has been recently cleaned and serviced. The dial is signed William Sharpe of Bourne (Lincolnshire). He is listed as working there from 1835-1850. It stands on small bracket feet and the base has a moulded applied panel. The slim trunk has mahogany quarter columns and the door has an inlaid shell. The mahogany veneered hood has slim turned columns and an elegant swan neck pediment with brass patria.The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has an attractively painted dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator. The maximum dimensions are:56cm (22âeoe) wide224cm (88âeoe) high28cm (11âeoe) deep
