19th C Belgian Portrait of Fisherwoman O/C Painting
Description: Oil on canvas, framed. Unsigned. Dimensions: Canvas: 14 x 10in. Frame: 22 x 18in. Weight: 7lbs. 10oz. (Box G) Condition: Surface of the work is slightly dirty and could benefit from a cleaning. Two areas of loss to canvas, each measuring approximately 1/4 x 3/4in., the first located 3 1/4in. from upper edge and 3 1/2in. from left side, the second located 6in. from upper edge and 3 1/2in. from left side. A few minor nicks in surface paint scattered throughout, most significant along horizontal line of craquelure located 6in. from lower edge and 3 1/2in. from right side. Seemingly stable craquelure scattered throughout. Surface soiling throughout. Otherwise, good condition overall with no evidence of inpainting when examined under u.v. light. Artist's Biography:
