Description: 19th century Chinese export semi-eggform porcelain vase or cache pot, finely hand painted in rare famille-verte Rose (Pink) red, yellow, green, celadon, orange, and gold. The lid depicts peonies in full blossom, with a flying butterfly, and applied spider finial. The main scene depicts a serene Chinese landscape, with flowers, figures, and organic wildlife. The vase is signed on the lid, and underside with a Red-orange Chinese export mark. The peony flower is believed to symbolize youth; butterflies represent the spirits of divine lovers and long life.
