Description: 1952 Wonderfully Whimsical Vintage Mid-Century Ad- Lady and Scaredy Cat Lost in a Tree Decide to Use New Mobilgas Miracle-Fold Map JHBT Artwork. Utterly Fantastic Original Vintage Mid-Century Ad taken from an early 1952 issue of American Magazine. Wild weird wonderful artwork with a superbly animated quality features a little old lady up a tree with a scaredy-cat- note the yellow shade of her feline friend- clutching her colorful blue purse as they scan the skies in hopes of discovering where they got lost. Next time the ad reminds us- they should relax and use the new Mobilgas Miracle-Fold Map! At the end of the iamge is a pic of the lady and her now frisky kitten examining the map- kitten climbing on top of her chapeau from a large Mobilgas sign. Wonderful artwork is signed JHBT- reminiscent of the fantasy imagery done by many animators including Walt Disney at this time. Glorious use of color and texture- note the eerie gnarled quality of the tree branches and the slightly darkened skies. Ad measures 9 x 12 fantastic bit of Mid-Century humor and whimsicality sure to delight any viewer!
