Illustrated by George J. Zaffo, "The Big Book of Real Trains" was published by Grosset & Dunlap: NY in 1949. This very early edition is in good condition. Hardbound, no dust jacket (as issued), glazed pictorial paper covered boards. The spine has been reinforced with black librarian's tape, but the cellophane type coating on the covers is in excellent condition with only a slight tear on the back. Light corner bumps. Binding tight except for bottom 3", interior is sparkling clean with no rips or tears and no writing anywhere. If you live with a little boy aged 3 to 8, or with a railroad buff, you need this book! Lovely vintage illustrations! L= 13" - W= 9.5"
