Description: 1947 Lavish Vintage Mid-Century Fab Forties Fashion Illustration Balenciaga and Lanvin Present Elegant At-Home Ensembles Delfau Artwork. Absolutely Glorious Original Vintage Mid-Century Fashion Illustration done with graceful flair and stunning originality for a Autumn, 1947 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine. Romantic and semi-formal with a delicate touch of modernity are the three ensembles for at-home entertaining done in beautiful bright shades in this exceptionally charming illustration by fashion artist Delfau. Two designs are done by Balenciaga one described as ming yellow wool tailored robe over pleated black crepe trousers, the second pure enchantment in romantic pink slipper satin trimmed in rosettes of Vla lace encrusted with rhinestones. Image at the top of the page is Lanvins Basque style robe with fringed shawl in primrose yellow and dark fetching lilac.
