Wonderfully elegant and unique looking suit done by Jo Copland for the Patullo line- short bolero jacket and three tiered skirt almost collarless- practical and feminine fashions by one of the leading sportswear designers of the decade. American sportswear and design took off during the years of WW2 when full access to European houses was cut off- in consequence a fully American style began to emerge with anumber of designers leading the way. This ad captures the chic of the moment and is taken from a 1945 issue of Vogue Magazine. Measures 10 x 13- in good bright overall condition- an absolutely marvelous bit of fashion history!
