Deliciously chic original ad taken from a rare 1940 issue of L'illustration Magazine- just prior to the advent of World War 2. L'illustration Magazine frequently featured elegant,soignee sophisticated artwork. This exceptional ad is done in a primarily delicate subtle palette so that the product line can be shown to best advantage- the blue and gold figured packages with cupids frolicking in a perfect celestial blue sky on a porcelain white background. Note the luscious and lustrous pink shade of nail polish next the dark crimson lipstick- the powder puff looks engagingly elegant against the pale pink, blue and lavender background- this is just an exquisitely done image. Lancome informs the viewer that this product is for the fair beauty- poudre, rouge, cosmetiques pour les yeux. Ad measures 11 x 15 perfect for your boudoir or bathroom- and a marvelous gift idea. Condition is crisp and clean overall- colors gleam in person. Some slight edgewear at the top- otherwise tres charmante!
