Description: Lovely Italian or Belgian jacquard machine woven small tapestry reproduction of Raphael's (Raphaello Sanzio) painting of Mary with infants St. John the Baptist and Christ Child titled 'Madonna' or 'La Belle Jardinière. Tapestry is mounted in a painted wood frame with inner frame of a dark green velvet material.

Frame is painted with dark, burnished gold and accented with a thin medium green middle border for accent. Frame is in very good condition, however the beauty of the tapestry would be better served in a more ornately detailed Period frame. Backed with brown paper and has a contemporary sawtooth hanging bracket. Gold foil label of framer, Economy Glass, Scotts Bluff, NEBR, Custom Framing. Frame is circa 1960 - 1970. Tapestry is dated circa 1940-50. Tapestry is in very fine condition and exhibits beautiful color and texture. Linen and Cotton weave.

Measures 20.5 by 15.25 inches wide framed.
