Description: Collection of New York Yankees Player Autographs from around the 1940's to 1950's era. These and many other Autographs were acquired from an estate. The family of the gentleman of who these belonged to were owners of a well-established Hotel in a West Virginia town for many years. I was told some Autographs were attained personally himself but that he often wrote to various celebrites of his era and prior. They would send him their autograph back and in some cases include a memo. Anyhow, with the history behind these I believe the Autographs to be legitimate but it costs to much to have them authenticated so I'm listing them "as is". Autographs include the following: Gil McDougald: Yankee from 1951-60, Nearly 1,300 hits, 1951 ROY, 6-time All-Star Bill Johnson: Yankee from 1943-51, 1947 All-Star, .271 lifetime AVG Fred Sanford: Yankee Pitcher from 1949-50 Joe DiMaggio: Yankee from 1936-51, 13-time All-Star, 3-time MVP, 2,200 Hits, near 1,400 Runs, 361 HR's, 1,500+ RBI's, .325 lifetime AVG Phil Rizzuto: Yankee from 1941-56, near 1,600 Hits, 5-time All-Star, 1950 MVP Hank Bauer: Yankee from 1948-59, 3-time All-Star, 1,400+ hits, .277 lifetime AVG Joe Page: Yankee from 1944-50, 14 Game Winner 1947, 13 Game Winner 1949, 3-time All-Star, Led League in Games Pitched 1948-49 Cliff Mapes: Yankee Outfielder from 1948-51 Autographs are on various sizes of paper/index cards. Some he had taped to another sheet like the Dimaggio so there is some residue left. The DiMaggio autograph for instance has the brown tape residue on the back of the piece of paper and not the front of the autograph.
