Beautiful Original Vintage Forties Fashion Print taken from the pages of a Spring, 1940 issue of chic smart Harper's Bazaar Magazine. Always on the avante-garde side of fashion artistry, Harper's Bazaar featured some of the most delightfully charming and exceptionally talented illustrators of the first half of the twentieth century. This image created in color by artist Takal features a coy young maiden in frolicsome finery from Hattie Carnegie in the style that would define the first half of the Forites in meircan style- simple wearable chic and functional sportswear. Note the length of the dress, it's capped sleeves, peplum and matching head-scarf. The artist has given the scene a country setting with large fashionable purses in the maidens pathway instead of mushrooms or flowers. The bags are in shades of brown and gold with metal and chain detailing meant to compliment the fresh Irish green of the wonderful frock. A fantastic bit of fashion history to add to your collection or enhance your decor. Page measures 10 x 14 and is in crisp bright condition overall.
