Description:
This great souvenir of 54 Poster Stamps from the 1939/1940 New York World's Fair are still mint in their original cellophane package with Trylon and Perisphere on the front. The 1939 New York World's Fair was referred to as "The World of Tomorrow", It cost $155 million, adult admission was 75 cents and kids under 12 admission was 25 cents. Published under World's Fair License #K-1651 they are also marked Exposition Souvenir Label #I0/0/167. The original envelope measures 5 1/2 inches and 8 inches long, opened up the poster stamp sheet measures 15 inches high and 14 1/2 inches wide while each individual stamp measures 1 1/4 inches high and 2 1/4 inches wide. Stamps include all the major pavilions including GM, GE, Aviation, Long Island RR Station, RCA, Cuban Village, Maritime, Palestine, Ford, etc. A wonderful addition to any Stamp or Worlds Fair Collection.
