Description: 1933 Stunning Vintage Deco Ad- Gorgeous Blonde Bradshaw Crandell Pin-Up prefers Palmolive Soap for a Flawless Complexion. Absolutely Divine Original Vintage Color Deco Ad taken from the pages of a Spring, 1936 issue of McCalls Magazine. Superbly Sexy Scandalous and Downright Scintillating image created with great glamour and flair by famed pin-up master artisan Bradshaw Crandell. Part of a series of three painted for Palmolive borrows some of the luster of silver screen Hollywood at it's finest- the title of the ad- As You Desire Me is a direct quote from the inimitable Garbo's film pantheon. Crandell loved to set his models in natural poses which showed his great admiration for the lovely lithe modern athleticism of the era- note that his glorious blonde turns her back to the reader as she glances into a long mirror in a sumptuous low-cut practically backless black lace gown. Crandell and other estimable painters of pin-ups had adopted this back to the audience provocation from fellow craftsman Coles Phillips who altered the course of painting history with his shocking view less than twenty years earlier. The graphic is bold,s imple and memorable- the infamous luminous green bar of Palmolive can be seen at the bottom along with the promise of it renewing and preserving the users beauty. Ad measures 11 x 15 and is in crisp beautiful condition overall. A fine bit of great charm with a slight taste of naughty glamour sure to enhance any decor!
