Description: We are pleased to present a 1930's composition 22" Shirley Temple Doll. Made by Ideal, she has the marks on the back of her head (pictured), and on her upper back. The head mark is very crisp and legible, the other is fainter. She is in very good condition, with just a few issues, which I will describe. I will be glad to answer any questions, and email photos. The first issue is that she needs to be restrung. She does have some mild surface crazing, and a few places where the skin color has rubbed off. There is some deeper crazing on the inside of her upprer right leg, and a small chip in that area. All in all, considering the age of this composition doll, she is in amazingly good condition. Her skin surface in unstained, and even has a shine. The last issue, is that she came from a smoker's home. I have aired her out, and I can no longer smell anything on her clothes, but a little lingers on her hair, which I'm sure will respond to further airing. I don't believe she was ever played with. She is wearing her complete original "Stand Up & Cheer" costume, consisting of a red polka dot dress, with a ruffle at the neck, and a red ribbon sash. Red ribbons are tied on both of her wrists, and there is one tied around her hair. Her underwear is a onesie with an attached slip. Rounding out her outfit are white shoes, and white socks trimmed with a red stripe. The only problem with the clothing is a small tear in the back of the dress at the waist. Also, I should mention that the cloth has yellowed, which is not unexpected given its age. I believe it would respond to soaking in Oxyclean, but will leave that decision to the buyer. Her hair is VERY well preserved, and I would say this is her standout feature. She has sleep eyes, with real hair light brown lashes. Her mouth is open revealing her top teeth.
