Exceptional Elegance in this Original Vintage Deco Ad is Stunning Color taken from the pages of a November, 1928 issue of Ladies Home Journal. The look of the Deco Era was chic sleek and yet full of luxury- this is a perfect example of the modernity that began to infiltrate middle class American tastes. Showcasing homes that were fabulous enough for any Hollywood film star, ad copy in lush graceful and bold color schemes suggested a world beyond the pallid historical imitations that had been considered the height of good taste up until the time of the infamous Arts Decoratif Exhibition held in Paris in 1924. Artists, designers, decorators breathed new life into old forms and began to herald and advance new novel and exceptionally sophisticated colors, textures and styles. This color revolution began slowly but had built tremendous momentum by the year 1928. Note the color scheme which is primarily mulberry, deep green, black with hints of yellow and pink. The room is described as refreshing and new as tommorrow with mirror-lustre lamp, taffeta drapes, restful lounge, modern dressing table with mirrors framed in pyramiding planes of silver, silver teabox wallpaper all nestle in comfort against the modern Armstrong Floor- which is done in a checkerboard pattern of black and green with flecks of white and deep blue. A beautiful example of Vintage Art Deco chic. Ad measures 11 x 15 and is in excellent crisp clean condition. Will be stunning on display with any decor or even inspire a revival of Deco dazzle!
