Description:
1926 Vintage Deco Ad- The Greater Glory with Fabulous Flapper Artwork by Hilliker. Absolutely Glorious original Silent Era First National Picture Ad done with colorful dazzling black and white artwork by Hilliker. Billed as History's most amazing decade pictured in one magnificent drama, Greater Glory was the story of the last great days of Vienna, the advent of World War One and the post-war decadence of the twenties. This must have been a prestige picture, and was written and produced by June Mathis- who earlier in the decade had "discovered" Rudolph Valentino and put him in possibly the best film he ever made Four Horseman of the Apocolypse. The graphic is dynamic and powerful- a stunning flapper sheathed in a clinging pearl encrusted halter-necked dress wielding a sword is superimposed over images of nightclub-dancers and a battlefield of bayonette-wielding soldiers. First National certainly wanted to enliven the viewers of this ad! Ad is rare and taken from an issue of Saturday Evening Post Magazine- the condition is excellent crisp and clean. Scan gives the image a slight sepia tone in person it is strongly black and white. Just a fabulous film ad to enhance any collection or make a wonderful conversation piece amongst your decor!
