Description:
Vintage Deco 1925 Original Hayden Hayden artwork in Humming Bird Hosiery Ad. Daringly audacious image of a slinky flapper enjoying the look of her new Hummingbird brand hosiery in the privacy of her boudoir. Shapely and scantily-clad flappers began advertising all manner of items in as lillte clothing as possible during the Deco Decade and artists such as Hayden Hayden were thrilled to provide gorgeous Ziegfield-Glodwyn worthy images of them. This lovely lass with her bobbed auburn locks is attired in beautiful yellow knee-length chiffon nightie, pink rose- trimmed garters, French heeled soes and of course Humming Bird stockings. Wonderful use of background color and texture note the motif of diving hummingbirds throughout, the lovely pinks and lavenders of the screen behind her and the wonderful gold and pale blue backgorund. Artist Hayden Hayden was clever and adept at portraying winsomely charming if somehwat audacious young ladies for a variety of top ecehelon clients such as Humming-Bird and Jello. Ad is in excellent condiiton very bright and dazzling in person. Taken from a rare 1925 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine, Conde Nasts arbiter of sophisticated social chic it measures 10 x 13. Will be a glorious addition to any collection, decorative accent piece or gift. Vintage advertising images taken from sources such as Vogue and Vanity Fair are increasingly rare and wonderful to behold in person. A wonderfully designed image. I can arrange a grouping of similar ads to help you create a stunning decorative motif.
