1911 Exquisite Vintage Art Nouveau Original Sarah Stilwell Weber Magazine Illustration- Enchanted Fairies and Dryads. Rare and Wonderful Find! Beautiful Vintage Art Nouveau Illustrated Magazine pages taken from a December, 1911 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine. Absolutely Enchanting page with delightful decorations done by artist Sarah Stilwell Weber. Weber a leading illustrator who specialized in images of children was also capable of creating creatures of mythology and folk-lore both endearing and lovely. This magazine illustration was done exclusively for the pages of Ladies Home Jouranl for a short story by Frank Stockton entiteld The Trouble she Casued when she Kissed. Done with great charm, the duo of back and white pen and ink drawings can be seen flanking the top and bottom of the large sized 12 x16 page. Using her sense of fantasy and elegance Weber's top of the page drawing features a pretty young girl in quaint raiment, fluttering leaves overhead, a sweet faced young girl with long black locks being embraced by a bare-foot wood nymph with undulating garments crafted of leaves. This drawing was done during the Golden Age of fantasy illustration and can easily stand among the greats of the age Eadmund Dulac, Maxfield Parrish, John R. Neil in it's artistry, craftsmanship and sheer delightful imagination. Bottom of the page features a lovely iamge of a fairy or sprite lounging in the foliage of a gorgeous forest glade with long pale locks and a ensemble with a top formed of tow leaves folded together with her bare feet set upon some river rocks. This is an unusual piece for the artist drawing very different themes and elements than her general beautiful works of ordinary mortal children. Wonderful and rare this illustration is sure to delight any fan of fairy-tales and Art Nouveau themed artwork. Absolutely deserves to be placed on display where many can enjoy it's unique charms! Will be dazzling matted and framed added to any decor. Measures 12 x 16- general condition is bright and crisp, one slight closed tear above the n-k in author Frank Stockton's name.
