Description: 1908 Vintage Edwardian Ivory Soap A- Beautiful Sydney Adamson Artwork-Summer Boating Scene. Charming and quaint original ad taken from a 1908 issue of Ladies Home Journal Magazine- full-page 11 x 17 black and white pen and ink illustration created by talented artist Sydney Adamson with summertime boating scene. Lovely image of Edwardians at leisure complete with deck-strolling revelers, bamboo trimming and Japanese hanging lanterns neatly framing a pretty young miss enjoying a bit of embroidery- which she will protect by washing it in Ivory Soap since she realizes none but Ivory Soap is good enough. Ivory Soap ads were always distinctively done- many famous illustrators were hired to create images of marvelous charm and exquisitely detailed scenes in which the product could be seen to it's greatest advantage. Ad is absolutely beautiful in person- all the details and intircacies of Sydney Adamson's elegant style are incredible in person. Condition is good and bright overall- will be a novel and sweet addition to any collection and is fit to grace any wall you might possess!
