Description: 1908 Vintage Edwardian/Art Nouveau Rare Ivory Soap Ad with K.R. Wireman artwork. Taken from a 1908 issue of The Garden Magazine, this is a charming and lovely image done for the company with a beautiful and delicate image of two chums, enjoying a brisk stroll in the snow each attired in fashionable walking suits, picture hats and muffs, secure in the knowledge that through use of Ivory Soap, they are both as daisy-fresh and clean as the snow which drops at thier feet. Artist Wireman has captured a unique moment in time- the enduring strength of freindship framed delicately in the bare braches of the tress. During the Art Novueau period a heightened appreciation of the beauty and wonder of the natural world beagn to emerge into popular advertising art. This is a darling bit of whimsy from the height of the Edwardian Era. Note the sweet expressions on both ladies faces- the natty striped suit of the one and the feathered hats on both of them. Condition is good and bright overall- the numbers 1978 are however stamped at the top in light green. Measures 9 x 12- one of the least common Ivory Soap ads of the period- and delightful in person. All items at A Fine Madness Collectibles are guaranteed original Vintage, Antique Ads, Prints, Artwork, Postcards, Hollywood and Paper Ephemera- never reproductions or copies.
