Description: This marvelous all original Drinking Man's cane is an oenophile's delight, carved of wood anytime between 1875 and 1890. The gold handle, which measures 4 x 1-1/2 inches, is engraved with "1890" on the cap and "March 26, 1874" in cartouche along the length. Fully carved along the wooden shaft are sharp and clever depictions of grapes and leaves, a wine barrel, a man with a mug, various bottles and pitchers, tools, knives, forks and spoons, animals, 2 fighting roosters, and a hand holding some playing cards. At the end of the shaft is a inch-long steel tip. Handle is 4 x 1-1/2 inches. Overall length is 34-3/4 inches.
